Dux win

PASADENA.—In southern California this evening, the Oregon Ducks beat the Wisconsin Badgers 28-27 in the 2020 Rose Bowl.

The UW played well overall, but four turnovers were too much to overcome. Nor was the passing game as dynamic as it had been during regular season wins over Nebraska and Minnesota. Late in the 4th quarter, a third down pass from QB Jack Coan to wideout Cephus Quintez fell incomplete, sealing Wisconsin's fate.

Was Cephus distracted by flashbacks to his dirty soirée with two white women last year? Or perhaps he was still a bit rusty, having been suspended from football for the 2018 season as a result. We tried to catch up with him after the game to get his view on this, but we're in northern California and the game was in southern California, so that wasn't possible.

"I'm thinking the better team didn't [sic] win, but the scoreboard says otherwise," commented one of UW's announcers after the game. "They [the UW] probably deserved to win this game," added his comic foil. Yeah, except not.

So what does football have to do with Hoofer Sailing? Both are UW-Madison sports that seem to cultivate abusers among their ranks. Abusive individuals may also be drawn to sports-centric organizations like these where they can regularly make physical contact with others while not drawing too much attention to themselves.

Stay tuned for some breaking ice sailing news.

  1. Quit pickin' on Cephus. He gets double-teamed on and off the field and always penetrates the end zones. And bringing-up white women? Which is really the essence of all of this. Wisconsin is the most racist state. Wisconsin is #1. But not at something we want to cheer about, or at least cheer about publicly. Heck, the State of Whinesconsin took a whole lot of disenfranchising and incarceration to achieve becoming The Most Regressive State in the United States of ALEC (USA! USA!). https://www.channel3000.com/wisconsin-is-the-most-segregated-state-in-america-according-to-new-report

  2. Hoofer's Sailing Club is not racist. There are many millennials in the club. Just look around!

  4. I sailed with a few Millennials. Dont' take this the wrong way, but it is apparent that they cannot sail as well as the Gen X and Gen Y'rs.

  5. Will the freezing and thawing of Lake Mendota spare the new Tong Family Marina? Or will large ice sheets heave the docks back onto the land like a body rejecting a transplant?

    Stay tuned teeny boppers.

  6. Does the new Marina increase throughput or cause delays? The longer piers had the advantage of launching and landing boats quite fast. The new configuration almost demands that each boat have a little trolling motor to enter and depart. And how many Tech Boats are still in existence?

The floating piers sit low and wobble towards any weight put on them. Just point the bow at 90 degrees to the pier and throttle gently. The boat's weight further lowers the floating pier/dock/contraption and throttle some more until the propeller is just out of the water.

Be sure to gas up the engine so the next sailor can enjoy this beautiful silent sport.
