BREAKING NEWS: Jim Rogers removed!

Details are still sketchy, but the Wis. Union's Human Resources office has confirmed that Hoofer Advoosigator Jim Rogers is being "reassigned" to another position at the union. According to Human Resources, from now on Jim will have nothing to do with Hoofers anymore.

He is being removed from Hoofers apparently as a result of serious policy violations and/or violations of law. Jim has until Friday to clear out his desk in the upper office.

Bon voyage, buddy!

Sept 28 update: As most everyone is aware by now, Jim Rogers' removal is official. He is now an "adviser" in WUD. And don't believe it when he says he wanted to leave Hoofers. He was forced to accept reassignment.

  1. Hey "Akbar", you should exercise your brain (what's left of it) and come up with your own screen name. And try to stop drinking in the morning. That's what got Jimbo into trouble.

  2. Ha, ha; let's face it: this issue of alcohol abuse condoned by the Union Leadership isn't going away simply by canning Rogers--who had other problems never resolved at the Union, destructive to HSC as an institution. We all know who the players are in this drama, and that Rogers just provided the venire of stability to the Wisconsin Union Director for a few years--until it could not hold anymore. Facts are troubling that way. Are the career instructors still employed for wages there? C'mon Mr. Guthier, whatcha gonna do about them?

  3. Ewe, this is too good to be true. It can't be true. Can it possibly be true?! Ewe, I hope its true!!

  4. Oops. I had no idea you'd licensed the name from George Lucas. Sorry. Should I expect to get served with a summons now?

  5. Good for Hoofers. I'm hopeful that they won't make the same mistake they did with the last two HoI hires and will select somebody from outside Hoofers to take Jim's spot.

  6. I wonder if the Union will hire some new sucker, because the predecessors in this position have all been incompetent at best or manipulators at worst. Is it even remotely possible the Union will ask themselves if this is a pattern they can avoid now by asking the fundamental questions? Otherwise, they should in fairness warn all those whom they interview that this job could end poorly for them.

  10. People, please limit name-calling to current Hoofer staff, and try to say something intelligent. Like, Jim it's been nice knowing ya! (not).

It's amusing to see how upset and flustered Jason gets at being called the relatively tame 'twat', given the regular appearance of highly homophobic cartoons and comments on this site.

  13. Fleet Commander for Head of Instruction. Time to walk the walk and show all of us how it should be done! If selected as the HOI what will be your actions in the 1st year? If I had your picture I would create a 'HOPE' poster for you :)

  14. A "Hope" poster? If I were HOI, I'd start by firing all paid instructors, then rehiring them as volunteers. The ones who didn't want to "work" for "free" could move on.

As you can see, it's highly unlikely that I'll ever be HOI. :D

  15. Who says that we need paid instructors? Is it written in stone somewhere? I'd rather see all positions filled with enthusiastic volunteers.

Exception might be paid instructors for Hoofer Youth. I mean, that is a job.

PS. The Comics on the Blog Site are very good.

  16. I worked extensively with both Jim Rogers and Chris Robaidek. Neither of them were incompetant nor manipulative in their positions as Hoofer Advisor.

Just because you don't agree with someone's ideas, doesn't mean that they are incompetant or manipulative.

If you don't have anything productive to say, don't say anything at all.

  17. And who are you? It would be useful to know so that your statements could be taken in context. Perhaps Jim was never manipulative with you, or when you were around, but that says nothing about how he treated hundreds of other people over the years.
