Special election for special guyz

For those who've been asleep at the wheel, the commodore election this year is much earlier than in the past--it's next week. Actually, it was supposed to be in March, but no one who got nominated wanted to be commodore! So, we try again.

The reasoning behind the change to early-season elections was that many students leave town in early August, right around the time the election has traditionally been held in the past. At least, I think that's the reason, but I'm usually asleep at the wheel and/or drunk during BOC meetings.

This Friday, May 10, is now the last day to nominate someone for commodore, vice-commodore, or (heh-heh) rear commodore. That last position, a new one, is something like a$$ queen, I guess, but hey, it gets somebody else another free membership, and Hoofers is all about getting free stuff.

Here are some of the benefits of being commodore:
• A FREE annual membership.
• Power, and lots of it.
• No responsibility.
• Superuser login to the website, letting you remove ratings anonymously, collect personal info, and generally f@#k with anyone you don't like.
• 60% tuition stipend worth up to $6,000 (I still can't believe we added that, or Union management did when they took over.)
• Help shape the future of the club and pad your wallet at the same time!
• Free lifetime membership so you can "stay until you're grey".
• You get to be featured on this blog!

So nominate yourself now, or better yet, nominate someone you don't like!

Note: Next year's commodore has already been selected by Union administration, but we have to go through the election process anyway for appearances sake.

  1. "Special Election" is offensive, Hoofers has a very clear "NO AUTISM" policy. I can list 3 people so far who've been let go because of their different ability. Elsmo is crystal clear on this.

    1. FOIA request on commodore@hoofersailing.org shows a person specifically targeted for being autistic.

    2. Freedom of information request? Are you saying someone made such a request and discovered evidence of such targeting?

    3. yes, The commodore, Mills appears to be so insensitive he makes the kid get re-tested to confirm his Autism, then is sent confirmation laughs and kicks him out anyway.

    5. It appears he hauled an Autistic kid infront of the board, to make him beg to come back, and wouldn't allow him to have his caretaker, or Medical assistant present, the poor kid even asked for his lawyer, JESUS this is quite a read. Ofcourse it was denied, but the hoops they made him jump through just to be denied and laughed at for having Autism is purely disgusting. Mills Botham is a MONSTER!

    6. Doubtful it was all Mills' decision. Do you have any documents on this? Others would be very interested to see what the club is up to. If you want to black out personal names, you can do that on the hardcopy (or a xerox), then scan the pages at any campus library and it will output a PDF.

    7. Mills never made any decisions on his own, he is a puppet at best. and Yes I have the emails, FOIA makes that easy. Where to send them tho?

    8. Ah, there are quite a few people interested in this. I have more information now. An acting Vice Commodore stole a shit ton of money from the victim, and Mills was helping to cover it up I think. WOW this gets deeper, I really want to know more, anyone know anything email me again please.

    9. I did a search and found an email address in the blog, hooferclubs@yahoo.com, which you could try, or you could upload them to a free file hosting site. Myself and others would like to know more about any discrimination in the club which is illegal, however I would not count on the BOC to forward you anything.

    10. Great Thanks, Gimme a week and let me try to get intouch with the victim, I'd like his permission. If I can't get intouch with him by then, I'll just forward ya everything I got, and let u decide.

    11. The only reason I want try to contact him first, is that The Commodore forced him to redo Autism testing to be readmitted and there is a Doctors note confirming it from a licensed Psychiatrist. Even tho it is in the public domain now, im not sure if this creates a HIPA conflict, or if the commodore informed him that by e-mailing the doctors note it would become publicly searchable.

  2. Scott Walker is unemployed and would make a fine Commodore. Maybe we can get Scott Fitzgerald for Rear Commodore? But Walker brings experience to the position. He can postpone critical infrastructure funding, freeze membership fees at current level and take funding from lower fleets and apply to the few juggernaut keels. (sorry J boats, try harder). After all, the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many.

  3. "Special election" is what it says on the club's official website, which is just what you would expect from clueless people who discriminate.

  5. The perks are nice. Good opportunity.

  6. Let's see if it takes a year for the official report and cause of death. No UW Rescue boats involved so it should be finalized in a month vs. 1 year for Yu Chen. https://www.channel3000.com/news/mpd-body-found-along-shoreline-of-lake-mendota-no-signs-of-foul-play/1078771255

  7. It's a little too early to rule-out involvement by Hoofers or Harvey, isn't it?

Guy could have been doing a little stand-up paddle boarding when, BAM! Britney Spears moment. Oops I did it again.

  8. Why even hold elections? The appearance of student involvement? Elsmo has final say now anyway.

  9. Scott Walker still available. Fox Conn might need to build another plant. Maybe he can get Hoofer's eminent domained with his GOP cronies. Problem solved! Only the rich can boat, again!

  10. I think all the Scott Walker aficionados left town before the roads became impassable. They packed-up their unsustainable dogma and split for the Blue States where jobs and infrastructure are aplenty.

    Soglin might be available.

  11. Maybe they needed some medicinal relief only available in every other state except for WI. I hope the kind bud helps alleviate their guilt for unleashing dumb and dumber on the state. States receiving these ex-Pats should put them through re-education camps so that their diseased way of thinking can be addressed through therapy or hard labor.

  12. How about some updates on the new Marina? Working well or not? Or, is it so good that even the proprietors of this board can find no fault? Now that is newsworthy!

  13. It has not washed away. So far so good.

  14. So elections at hoofers are now sponsored and predetermined by the Wisconsin union, via David elssmo, whats the point of actually voting?

  15. Just the latest disenfranchisement. Consistent with the regressive Wisconsin legacy of the past 9 years. The dictatorship of the Boatatariat by those who best understand what works for you, sans input.
