What's wrong with this picture?

Check out the photo (at right), taken today. Those are semi-sized cargo containers where the sailboards, 420s, and FJs should be! Handsome, aren't they. ;)

Believe it or not, those beauties are the new Chartroom (left) and storage room (right). Er, is it the new boathouse (left), and canoe storage (right)? Actually, it may be the new shop (left) and lifejacket storage (right). For the next year, those metal boxes will substitute for all Hoofer interior spaces--even when it's 90 degrees outside.

It looks like very few boat repairs will get done over the next year. We recommend asking for fluorescent lamps as they give off less heat than regular light bulbs, though it probably won't make much diff. Have fun in there, guys!

In a way, Hoofer employees deserve this torture for demanding millions in improvements and sticking 40,000 other UW students with the bill.

  1. How did you get that picture? I thought you weren't allowed on Hoofer property...

  2. Huh? There is not such thing as 'Hoofer property'. It is true that some private Hoofer spaces such as offices, the instructor cubicle, and so on, are only accessible to employees but those are usually kept locked anyway. The photo appears to be taken from a public sidewalk adjoining a city street, next to the UW campus which is state property.

Hoofers and union managers do like to harass people they don't like, or who are not doing enough sexual favors for them. It seems the previous poster may be one of those. So 'Get a Life', have you ever noticed that when you're in the instructor office/cubicle and close the door, there is barely enough room to jerk off?!

  3. Come now, I am sure none of the upstanding Hoofer instructors would do such a thing in the instructor office. There are keelboats for that, and weekly socials and other events where the paid staff can attract unsuspecting customers, or coerce them, into performing favors for ratings and other perks.

  4. Just to keep it nautical, can we just it 'sweating the jib' or 'coming about'?

  5. Don't forget 'jumping the mast' and 'blowing the guy' (these really are sailing terms, believe it or not!!)
