"We don't harass women in Hoofers"

In a recent study, 84% of men whose actions matched the legal definition of rape said that what they did was definitely not rape[1]. Similar results have been obtained in other studies for other sex-related crimes.

Many people—men and women alike—consider "sexual harassment" to be a bunch of bull (no pun intended). It's so easy to make up a story, file a complaint, even get somebody, normally a male, charged with sexual harassment or sexual assault, even if they didn't do anything wrong. Well guess what?
At least two of the past eight HSC commodores, both of whom are men in their 30s or 40s, have been formally charged with sex-related violations (and we're betting it's more than two). You can download the most recent investigation here.

The question is: does becoming commodore make it more or less likely that an individual will become sexually aggressive..?
We suspect it's the former, given the commodore's sweeping authority within HSC. But if it's the latter (or if it makes no difference), that would suggest that sexual harassment (and possibly assault) are widespread in Hoofers.

But hey, two out of eight still means that three out of four commodores are not engaging in sexual harassment of female club members. Them's pretty good odds, eh? So c'mon, girls! Join up!

  1. Hoofers lends itself to sexual harassment: lots of night events, authority figures, cruises where everyone is basically trapped on the boat with those authority figures, costumes and masks, etc, and no accountablity.

  2. Wasn't one of these persons pictured charged in Dane County Court with 3rd Degree Sexual Assault back in the 1990s in Madison? Why did the prosecutor dismiss the charges? Was there a plea agreement? Was it a wrongful charge then? http://wcca.wicourts.gov/caseDetails.do;jsessionid=4A828E66D41698DEE76FDFDB4F6F6262.render6?caseNo=1992CF001400&countyNo=13&cacheId=A9F811216A7693C659814270C96F569E&recordCount=7&offset=6

  3. Wow, this place is like WikiLeaks, except not important! I keep having to ask myself if the over-the-top offense about minor things is supposed to be comedic parody. (You'd have far more credibility, with me at least, if you'd quit whining about piddly garbage like being left out of the cool kids club. Christ, welcome to 95% of people in every club, social circle, and organization everywhere. Most people recognize the cool kids club isn't that cool anyway so they don't get upset about it. Or even give two shs. I certainly didn't.)

Anyway, sounds like they were both being assholes. But way to imply calling someone a bitch has anything to do with rape. Or that this is something criminal when it's a complaint regarding an employee. It's jerks like you who make girls who have actually been raped sound like whiners.

But maybe there's an actual crime someone's been "formally charged" with that you didn't include links to? If it's an actual crime, you should be able to find it on the WI court system website, and I encourage you to do so as I'm genuinely interested. I support you and this post if there's ACTUALLY some crime that happened; I thought that's what I'd find on this blog, rather than some guy crying about being unpopular. Forgive me if I'm a little dubious about your claims after reading the actual allegation, and seeing the nature of the other posts on this blog.

  4. Lady, I can't tell which side you're on. You complain that the blog is insinuating that harassment and/or name-calling can lead to rape, then you write:

"It's jerks like you who make girls who have actually been raped sound like whiners."

FYI, Frye was "formally charged" with harassment, and here's a real live CRIMINAL charge for you, againstanother former commodore:

It is old so he was not commodore yet, but was still a club member. I could say more but won't.

  5. Hardly name calling, then again, maybe the lady is right, much ado about nothing. Is that JJ in Drag posting as a a woman?

    Just looked it up: 940.225(3)
